The meeting took place on May 12, 2001 at the Doubletree Pavillion Hotel at 1900 Pavillion Dr., Virginia Beach, VA and began at 10:00 AM. I. ROLL CALL
B. No Quorum Achieved C. Guatemala Soccer League - status is changed to "not a member" from "not in good standing". Letters Reference A & Reference B addressed to Mr. President and Mr. Watson from Alberto Morales. D. ATTENDANCE - showing only those members present. 2. ATTACHMENT #1 distributed - "Recommended Fees for the Years 2001-2002". 3. FEE FOR LEAGUE HEARING / APPEAL increased from $50 to $100. 4. NATIONAL BOARD approved phasing out of payment of International Game percentage to local State Associations. NOTE: State Associations have traditionall partnered with the USSF on international games and assumed a commeasurate portion of the risk and received a percentage of the profits.
2. STATE REFEREE COMMITTEE - Attempt to strip referee's organization at the national level. 3. OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE - Work is not yet completed. 4. REFEREES - Internal Revenue Service rules that they are independent contractors. 5. INCIDENTALLY - paid referees under the age of 14 violate child labor laws.
2. BEN JONES is the Region I Coed Cup Commissioner. The National Coed Cup will be held at the Dallas Burn Training Center in Dallas, Texas in September. E. RECORDING SECRETARY

The Treasurer noted that both reports were prepared using the new accounting formats developed by Bruce Williams. 6. STATEMENT - Lauren Ware, speaking on behalf of the Chesterfield Women's Soccer Association:
2. The tryouts will be at the University of the District of Columbia in mid-May. 3. WOMEN"S team has no field and are therefore is at a disadvantage when it comes to practicing. 4. TOURNAMENT - June 8, 9, & 10 at Franklin & Marshall College. 5. RECRUITMENT FOR THE SELECT TEAMS - This is a statewide team and we want to develop participation among all leagues - both men and women. Direct e-mail to team reps has been very effective. WISL & NVSL have been helpful is disseminating information by e-mail. 81 players tried out last year.
2. Lamar Hunt US Open Cup, MDCVSA Representative: Virginia Beach International (HRISL). 3. USASA Amateur Open Cup, MDCVSA Representative: Universitario (WISL). 4. USASA Over-30 Cup, MDCVSA Representative: Virginia Beach International (HRISL). 5. The regional Over-30 Cup match will be played in Maryland May 20, 2001, 5:00 PM. 6. Need help with National & State Cup participation.

2. The Women's State Cup and USASA Women's Recreational Challenge Cup will be held concurrently at the Hampton Roads Soccer Complex July 28-29, 2001. Simultaneous tournaments should improve viewing pleasure of the players. 3. TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS FOR RECREATIONAL TEAMS has been waived. 4. Fields & Referees are lined up. 5. Tournament has been revised and downsized from 18 to 12 teams. 6. Appeal for continued support made to Wally Watson in his capacity as Region I Commissioner. 7. BUDGET - $4,500 needed for this year's tournament, $2,000 was needed last year.
